An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Developer to join a small but growing organisation located just outside Wokingham, Berkshire. You will be responsible for the ongoing development across the full stack, enhancing, maintaining the existing systems whilst playing a pivotal part in the development of new projects within the business.


Essential skills:

You bring 6+ years of experience with PHP, preferably with Laravel, and a deep understanding of MySQL.

Your skills in JavaScript + Vue 2-3, CSS, HTML, and other front-end languages are top-notch.

You’re a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, ready to take on projects with minimal supervision but maximum impact.

You’re proficient in Git version control

You’re experienced in building and consuming RESTful APIs

You have strong problem-solving skills and a passion for writing high-quality, maintainable codes


Preferred skills:

Mobile Development - Android/iOS

Basic Windows and Linux administration skills

Help to maintain our hosting environment built on Ubuntu Linux, Apache, and MySQL


Responsibilities:

Design and Development: Architect, develop, and maintain high-quality PHP applications, ensuring robust, efficient, and clean code.

Legacy Code Refactoring: Analyse, refactor, and optimize legacy code to enhance performance, readability, and maintainability.

Code Reviews: Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and efficient problem-solving approaches.

Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for new features, code changes, and system architecture.

Ability to create custom applications from scratch

Ability to customize pre-built solutions based on customer needs

Ability to create support documentation for all new applications


Education:

You have a B.S. in Computer Science (or comparable experience) with a solid portfolio.


Work Location (hybrid): 3 days in office, 2 remote

Due to location, own transportation essential
