Google Cloud Specialist


Simply Commerce are partnered with one of the UK's most well renowned businesses who for the last couple of years have invested heavily in to digital, including migrating their tech to microservices and cloud architecture.


I am looking for a GCP specialist to join one of their finOps squads here in the UK. You will be working with engineering teams as well as other stakeholders to ensure they are leveraging full economic potential of the cloud through financial management.


Responsibilities:

  • Managing relationships with stakeholders such as other engineers, finance and google.
  • Staying up to date with the latest cost effective services and promoting it in house.
  • Monitor the teams GCP spend and work with engineers to keep it cost effective.
  • Work with Finance teams to ensure correct accounting is applied according to IFRS and Group Accounting Policy, for example capitalising test / dev activity or booking accruals during financial close.
  • Continuously improve front door and in-life processes, ensuring the right data is captured to drive all aspects of cost transparency, optimisation, and financial accountability.


Experience:

  • Google Cloud Platform experience is a must.
  • Experience working as part of a FinOps team.
  • Experience developing scripts using python SQL, and Terraform.
  • Experience building and managing cloud cost analysis.
  • Understanding of GCP Cloud fundamentals in FinOps to manage Cloud Budget, Forecast, Spend monitoring, purchasing various Commitments, deriving Cloud Cost Optimization across the Organization.


Hybrid 3 days per week in the office
