  • Be responsible for and manage the aggregated Platform (Product) Backlog for one or many significant digital platforms.
  • Manage, in a delivery context, a team of Product Owners, providing guidance and support in the development of area product backlogs for agile sprint cycles.
  • Collaborate with Value Stream Owners and Product Managers to ensure efficient and effective delivery of benefits, Objectives and Key Results set for your Epic as part of your Value Stream.
  • Collaborate closely with the Strategic Management Office team including Delivery Managers and Portfolio Managers, to deliver benefits, balance stakeholder demands with resourcing / time constraints, and track delivery process against Spire Healthcare’s Strategic Roadmap.
  • Demonstrate the value of the services your platforms provide to Value Streams, users, e.g. developers, and the wider Spire organisation.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the organisation, mindful of the engagement Product Managers are also doing and carefully coordinate where there are overlaps, including Value Streams, cross-functional Product (stream-aligned) teams, end users including developers, business users, clinical staff, IT, e.g. other Platform Managers, and external partners, to gather requirements, feedback, and ensure broad support for digital initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with Change Management to ensure working solutions are deployed across Spire Healthcare successfully for the realisation of outcomes and benefits.
  • Establish fast prototyping techniques and involve cross-functional Product (stream-aligned) team members for fast feedback on what works and what does not.
  • Put usability and reliability at the forefront of your services (platform as a product), and regularly assesses if the services are still fit for purpose and usable.
  • Lead by example using the services you provide internally (when applicable), partnering with stream-aligned teams and enabling teams, and consuming lower-level platforms owned by other platform teams) whenever possible.
  • Demonstrate great adoption techniques that move internal new services, especially where there are new technologies, along an adoption curve, e.g. Use plain English to ensure your platform(s) are easy to understand as well as consume, with a great value proposition.
  • Participate in all agile ceremonies, including PI Planning, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups, to ensure alignment and continuous improvement.
  • Define key Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and use data-driven insights to inform platform improvement decisions, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with business goals.

  • Oversee vendor and technology partner relationships, conducting thorough evaluations to ensure their contributions enhance Spire’s platform offerings.
  • Measure and report on product performance using key metrics, soliciting feedback from users and stakeholders to inform future development cycles.
