Job Title: Locum Clinical / Counselling / Forensic Psychologist (Band 8a/8b) – Adult Acute Service
Location: Birmingham, NHS Service
Contract Type: Locum (3 months with a view to extend)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Psychologist to join our team on a locum basis at a Band 8a or Band 8b level. The successful candidate will work within an Adult Acute NHS Service in Birmingham, contributing to the delivery of high-quality psychological care. You will be joining a large, multidisciplinary team (MDT), collaborating closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Psychological Interventions: Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions to patients within the adult acute service.
- Assessments: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, formulating care plans and treatment strategies.
- Clinical Supervision: Provide supervision and guidance to junior psychologists and assistant psychologists, supporting their development and ensuring clinical excellence.
- Staff Consultation: Advise and support the wider MDT on psychological best practices, contributing to the overall care strategy.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with NHS guidelines and professional standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- HCPC Registered Psychologist (Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic)
- Experience at Band 7, 8a or 8b level (or equivalent).
- Strong skills in delivering psychological interventions and assessments.
- Experience supervising junior staff and contributing to MDTs.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
