In this highly dynamic purchasing and supplier management department, you will report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer. Your role is crucial to the department's daily operations, ensuring that parts are delivered to programs on time and within budget.
This role involves managing a variety of highly technical components and their supply chains, with regular reporting on supply chain status both internally and to customers. You will lead daily supplier and subcontractor management activities, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure continuous supply
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee Supplier Management, Purchasing, and Buying activities, driving the ongoing work plan for these functions.
- Collaborate closely with the supply chain to build and continuously improve supplier and customer relationships, implementing initiatives to enhance processes across the board.
- Communicate openly with stakeholders, identifying opportunities to streamline purchasing, distribution, supplier warehousing, and logistics.
- Support programs from inception to completion, ensuring on-time delivery and maintaining full ownership of supplier selection, delivery, cost management, risk mitigation, and opportunity identification.
- Develop and manage timelines, ensuring progress is tracked and critical project milestones or risks are clearly communicated.
- Take ownership of supplier contracts, ensuring they are established and maintained to meet the delivery requirements of end customers.
- Build and lead a cohesive team that supports departmental workload with seamless alignment to the business's input/output functions.
Qualifications:
- Project Management: Skilled in initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing projects to meet specific goals and success criteria.
- Supply Chain Expertise: Proficient in ERP/MRP systems like Factory Master, with experience in managing the flow of products or services from supplier to customer.
- Supply Chain Project Management: Experienced in maintaining supply chains, managing commercial agreements, and collaborating across teams to ensure supplier quality and commercial alignment.
- Cost Analysis & Proposals: Conducts data-driven trend analysis to support proposal development and submission.
- Supplier Management: Expertise in supplier onboarding, contract negotiation, risk alignment, and budget control through value-for-money assessments.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Enhances supply chain performance through supplier alignment and KPI monitoring.
- Strategic Planning: Experienced in developing and implementing supply chain strategies that balance cost and benefits.
- Demand Planning: Creates reliable forecasts to support ongoing program modeling and supply chain management.
- Continuous Improvement: Focused on improving high-cost, high-risk supplier relationships.
- Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Facilitates inclusive decision-making and escalation processes within teams.
