We are now seeking to appoint a Clinical Research Contracts Manager to join our dedicated legal department.
FOCUS OF THE JOB: This role would suit a person seeking to become a Contracts Manager with an interest in clinical research. The successful applicant will be trained to become a Contracts Manager in a contract research organisation. The Contracts Manager will be responsible for supporting and managing the review, drafting and negotiating agreements, for example, master service agreements, stand alone agreements, clinical trial agreements and contractor agreements. To provide legal support to the legal team and its internal stakeholders.
KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Law degree and legal experience.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry/life sciences particularly in research and development is desirable but not essential.
- In depth knowledge of contract law in the United Kingdom.
- The ability to draft, review and to negotiate a variety of contracts is required.
- Ability to manage own workload.
- Sound knowledge of Data Protection law.
- Able to build and maintain professional relationships across the business and to work as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to communicate complex legal issues and risks in terms that non-legal colleagues can understand.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to be flexible and reprioritise work loads dependent of the company demands.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
To draft, review and assist in the negotiation of agreements including but not limited to Clinical Trial Agreements, Services Agreements, Master Services Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, Contractor Agreements, Terms and Conditions, Change Orders, Start-Up Agreements or such other agreements as required from time to time.
To assist the Legal team with other matters as required.
To work according to the companies guidelines and policies.
To maintain the strict confidentiality of patient and business-related information.
To maintain a high level of initiative, integrity and personal responsibility, liaising appropriately with team members and managers to ensure your job role is efficiently carried out in accordance with relevant legislation and corporate deadlines.
To support the aims of MAC and to represent MAC appropriately in a professional way to all our customers.
To liaise with internal departments as needed for operational input on agreements.
To assist with drafting, reviewing and updating contract templates as needed.
To support other members of the Legal Team as and when required.
PHYSICAL, WORK ENVIRONMENT, TRAVEL DEMANDS:
- The role is remote with occasional attendance on site as required from time to time.
