About you:

They are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Operations Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day logistics operations, manage a small team, and ensure the smooth and timely movement of goods. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both imports and exports, be familiar with multi-modal freight solutions, and demonstrate a commitment to seeing tasks through to completion. In this role, you will build strong relationships with clients, manage staff, and maintain an efficient, compliant, and profitable operation.


What will you do?

  • You will supervise a small but dynamic team
  • Be the focal point for clients and built relationships with both existing and new clients
  • You have complete operational oversight
  • You will undertake system monitoring and reporting using specialist software
  • You will be responsible for driver and warehouse coordination
  • Do liaise with external organisations such as Customs & Excise


What will you need?

  • At least 5+ years of experience in both imports and exports within the freight forwarding industry. Experience with multi-modal shipping (air, sea, and road) is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding customer needs and providing tailored logistics solutions
  • Experience managing a small team, with the ability to mentor, motivate, and lead by example
  • Willingness to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion, ensuring high-quality service from start to finish
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to handle issues such as delays, customs challenges, and last-minute changes in shipment plans
  • Proficient in logistics software (including CDS and BoxTop), with an understanding of financial metrics such as profit margins and cost management
  • While formal education is not a prerequisite, extensive hands-on experience in freight forwarding is essential
  • Dangerous Goods by Air (DG Certificate) – desirable
  • Full UK Driving Licence
