About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join one of the UK’s largest defence primes. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects within the Defence or IT & Outsourcing sectors. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of expertise in pre and post-signature contract management, negotiation, and drafting terms and conditions (T&Cs).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead commercial activities across various projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives and legal requirements.
  • Manage the entire contract lifecycle, from pre-signature negotiations to post-signature implementation and ongoing management.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contract terms and conditions to secure favourable outcomes for the company.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including legal, finance, and project teams, to ensure seamless contract execution.
  • Provide expert advice on commercial risks and opportunities to senior management.
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners to ensure long-term success.
  • Monitor contract performance, resolving issues and implementing improvements as needed.


Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Commercial Manager within the Defence sector or IT & Outsourcing sector.
  • Proven experience in both pre and post-signature contract management.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with a track record of successfully closing complex deals.
  • Excellent understanding of contract law and best practices in drafting T&Cs.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting, with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
