Event Operations Manager

Up to £45,000 + Bonuses

London (Hybrid 2-3 days per week)


My client is a young, entrepreneurial event organiser. The focus is on approaching content development, marketing and the on-site event experience from, a global, content-led event for c-level executives from across retail to come together to learn, connect and debate. Bringing together the brightest minds of the global retail community, due to continued growth an exciting role has arisen for an Event Ops Manager.


You will possess excellent people and project management skills, proven ability to negotiate contracts, with an eye for detail as well as great time management skills. We're looking especially for tenacity and an entrepreneurial approach - this is a great market to work which demands a creative, innovative approach to delivering stakeholder value.


The ideal candidate must have proven experience in large-scale, complex, multi-faceted paid-for events. You will project manage and deliver an exceptional onsite and online experience for delegates, sponsors and speakers alike. The role covers all aspects of end-to-end event delivery including managing venues and operational suppliers; identifying key stakeholders in new global territories; proof reading promotional materials; managing team at events and ensuring fully briefed.


Duties & Responsibilities include:

Ownership of the operational budgets for all events. Ensuring events falls within budget, costs are controlled, prices compared, and discounts negotiated whilst ensuring we receive value for money and exceptional service and execution.

Research and identify key associations, media partners and suppliers in pivotal locations, and make initial introductions


Research, source and negotiate with venues. Being the main point of contact pre, during and post events


Source, negotiate and manage all operational suppliers and vendors, including AV, caterers, build partners, translation services, registration, accommodation etc.


Concise and consistent communication with all other members of the team. Conduct a team briefing before each event and onsite


Main point of contact for sponsors, providing full, bespoke information and ensuring full contract delivery


Oversee delegate registration process and communication. Provide exceptional customer service for all stakeholders both face-to-face and via written communication


Running the event on-site including all aspects of set up (overseeing the set build, sound checking etc.), final document collation, running the registration desk and the


Skills and competencies

Excellent communication skills: able to develop and maintain strong personal relationships with team members and external stakeholders, including venues and sponsors

Clear understanding (with examples) of operational KPIs

Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills

Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritise and multi-task across disciplines and event portfolio

Confident, able to work with minimum supervision to strict deadlines.

Accurate, good eye for detail, meticulous and well organised
