Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Portfolio, IT, and Business teams to gather and document business requirements for reports and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with other experts to consolidate data and build a robust reporting layer to meet current and future analytical needs.
  • Ensure high-quality, structured data flows from source systems to reporting layers, providing accurate and timely insights.
  • Uphold data quality and security standards throughout system changes and reporting processes.
  • Partner with data engineers to build scalable data pipelines and models supporting the gold data layer.
  • Assist in the migration and transformation of legacy data to the new platform as part of the company's digital transformation.
  • Leverage ERP expertise to define reporting requirements for future platforms.
  • Implement and maintain the BI roadmap, ensuring effective report creation, self-service capabilities, and compliance with GDPR.
  • Advocate for BI and Data Analytics capabilities across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align BI priorities and strategies.
  • Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards and automated reports.
  • Provide third-line support to the Service Delivery team as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Extensive Power BI development experience, including expertise in PBI Desktop, PBI Service, and content distribution.
  • Strong understanding of data management platforms, BI lifecycle methodologies, and data visualisation best practices.
  • Proficiency in SSMS or Azure Data Studio, dimensional data modelling (Kimball methodology), and data presentation in Power BI using DAX.
  • Expertise in writing efficient and robust SQL code to support dimensional data models.
  • Experience gathering reporting requirements and translating them into dashboards and reports.
  • Ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and quality.
  • Experience mentoring team members in Power BI development and reporting best practices.
  • Ability to validate data to maintain reporting accuracy.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality reporting and analytics on time and within budget.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to influence stakeholders and develop innovative solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptability to fast-paced environments and changing priorities while maintaining strategic focus.
  • Proactive approach to decision-making and risk-taking to drive product advancement.
  • Familiarity with project delivery tools such as Azure DevOps and experience working within project timelines.
  • Understanding of data structures, transformation processes, and best practices for business intelligence reporting.
  • Experience working with ERP data, particularly D365, is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of data lineage testing to ensure accuracy throughout ETL processes.
  • Collaborative mindset with a passion for continuous learning and staying updated on BI and data technologies.
  • Self-driven and adaptable to change within the company's digital transformation journey.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dataverse, Data Factory, SSIS, and Azure Data Platform.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft D365 Finance & Operations and Customer Experience modules.
  • Familiarity with Fabric, Azure Synapse, and data management practices including governance, quality, and metadata management (MS Purview).
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications such as PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst Associate) or DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate) are a plus.
