Principal Architect – Security & Infrastructure

Manchester or Edinburgh base location 3 days per week - up to £125k base salary


My Client is a leading Insurance company with over 4,000 employees, and they are currently seeking a Principal Architect with a strong background in Infrastructure & Security, to join their team at an exciting time in their modernisation era.


  • You will- Work with other Principal architects to join the roadmaps together into a coherent enterprise-wide view.
  • Design the strategy and roadmap for Infrastructure and Security alongside governance, taking ownership of adherence to Architecture Principles and guardrails.
  • Line-manage and mentor a small (4- 8) team of solution and enterprise architects.
  • Focus on digital-first, automated solutions to improve operational efficiency.


Essential Experience for the successful Security & Infrastructure Architect

  • Extensive experience in leading architects, in the security and infrastructure space.
  • Experience working in insurance is a must have. Ideally Life & Pensions, and investments.
  • Experience working in a hybrid environment, with deep knowledge of on-prem and Azure infrastructure and services
  • Established leader in the security and infrastructure space, with a keen desire to stay up to date with current and innovative technology
  • You will have experience running end-to-end governance process
  • You will have solid communication and influencing skills with high emotional intelligence and empathy
  • Azure and/or Security certifications are preferred. E.g. AZ-305, SC-100, CISSP an advantage
  • Experience of achieving ISO 27001 would be a huge advantage
