We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Hatchery Manager to join our client’s team in Lincolnshire. As the Hatchery Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of a thriving duck hatchery, ensuring optimal animal welfare, biosecurity, and production efficiency. If you’re passionate about leading a team and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect next step in your career.


Role:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the hatchery, ensuring the smooth running of egg collection and hatching processes.
  • Manage a team of 5 staff responsible for collecting and handling 3,500 eggs per day.
  • Ensure high standards of animal welfare, biosecurity, and site security are maintained at all times.
  • Monitor and maintain optimal hatching conditions, including temperature, humidity, and ventilation.
  • Develop and implement hatchery procedures to maximize productivity and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Collaborate with senior management to meet production targets and improve hatchery performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of egg collection, hatching rates, and overall hatchery performance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and welfare regulations.


Salary:

  • Around £38,000 per year (negotiable dependant on experience)
  • 39-hour working week with rare weekend work
  • Company vehicle provided for business and personal use
  • Relocation package considered for the right candidate


Skills/Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a hatchery environment
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
  • Knowledge of biosecurity, animal welfare, and health and safety standards in a hatchery setting.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
