About Us:

Only A Pavement Away is the charity supporting people facing homelessness and prison leavers into employment opportunities within hospitality. We act as the conduit which links hospitality employers looking to recruit from a more diverse pool of talents, and the charities and organisations looking to refer their candidates for jobs within hospitality. Additionally, we offer a wide range of trainings and workshops, as well as financial grants, to ensure our candidates can start and sustain employment in the best conditions possible.


The Role: Recruitment Resourcer

As a Recruitment Resourcer, you'll play a pivotal role in empowering individuals to take the next step in their employment journey. Your primary responsibility will be to engage with candidates referred to us by our network of charity partners, guiding them through the process of securing a job in the hospitality industry. You'll conduct phone screenings, assess qualifications, and match candidates with job vacancies or training opportunities that align with their skills and aspirations. Additionally, you’ll track their progress and handle essential administrative duties, ensuring a seamless experience for everyone involved.


What We're Looking For:

  • Engaging Personality: You’re approachable, empathetic, and able to connect with people from all walks of life.
  • Excellent Communication: You excel in both listening and questioning, able to navigate difficult conversations with sensitivity.
  • Experience with Disadvantaged Groups: Comfortable or experienced in engaging with individuals facing barriers to employment, such as those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Self-Starter: You work well independently, yet maintain clear and consistent communication with the team.
  • Hospitality and Charity Knowledge: You bring experience or a solid understanding of both the hospitality industry and the charity sector.
  • Organisational Skills: You’re adept at managing multiple tasks, keeping everything on track.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using online systems.
  • Mission-Driven: You share our commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals in finding stability through employment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Candidate Engagement: Be the welcoming voice that initiates contact with candidates referred to our online portal.
  • Phone Screening: Discuss each candidate’s profile and experience, verify eligibility, and provide guidance about the hospitality industry and our charity’s mission.
  • Job Matching: Search for job opportunities within our network of employers and match candidates with the most suitable ones
  • Workshop & Event Referrals: Guide candidates to appropriate learning and development opportunities, such as recruitment fairs, taster sessions, or mock interview workshops.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, supportive relationships with candidates throughout their journey with us.
  • Data Management: Keep our records accurate and up-to-date, handling administrative tasks and contributing to our monitoring and reporting efforts.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with Relationship Managers and other team members to ensure a smooth and supportive process for candidates.
  • Event Participation: Attend and represent our charity at various L&D events, including prison visits and recruitment fairs.

Additional Information:
