We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pharmaceutical Buyer to join our team. The Pharmaceutical Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the inventory of medical cannabis products and related supplies. This role requires strong communication skills, industry knowledge, and a commitment to ensuring that our product offerings meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. The role will develop in a fast paced company that has entities in multiple markets so someone who's dynamic and able to work flexibly as the role and company evolves is desirable.


Key Responsibilities


Product Sourcing:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers of medical cannabis products and related supplies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with reputable suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain.


Purchasing:

  • Prepare and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products and resolve any issues related to orders.
  • Regular contact with the Home Office and MHRA to facilitate import process.


Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels of all products.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control systems to track product quantities and movements.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.


Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all purchased products meet company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with the import partners to conduct inspections and testing of incoming products.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of product specifications and certifications.


Qualifications


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Qualified Responsible Person (RP), with a willingness to take on responsibility of the RP within the procurement side of the business.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the pharmaceutical or medical cannabis industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical cannabis products and regulatory requirements, experience working with the Home Office and MHRA.


Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficient in procurement software and tools (e.g. ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Shopify, Xero).
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
