Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pharmaceutical Buyer to join our team. The Pharmaceutical Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the inventory of medical cannabis products and related supplies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Sourcing:
    • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers of medical cannabis products and related supplies.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with reputable suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain.
  • Purchasing:
    • Prepare and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
    • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products and resolve any issues related to orders.
    • Regular contact with regulatory bodies to facilitate import process.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels of all products.
    • Implement and maintain inventory control systems to track product quantities and movements.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure that all purchased products meet company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Coordinate with the import partners to conduct inspections and testing of incoming products.
    • Maintain thorough documentation of product specifications and certifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Qualified Responsible Person (RP), with a willingness to take on responsibility of the RP within the procurement side of the business.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the pharmaceutical or medical cannabis industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical cannabis products and regulatory requirements, experience working with regulatory bodies.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficient in procurement software and tools (e.g. ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
