Sustainability Manager

About the Role
As a Sustainability Manager, you will drive and coordinate customer engagement around sustainability from a product and service perspective, aligned with global Professional Hygiene sustainability strategy and roadmaps. You will also collaborate with other Professional Hygiene sustainability roles and Essity global sustainability functions to leverage initiatives and secure alignment across categories and business units.
You will report to the Senior Sustainability Manager and be situated within the Product Management team. The role does carry the need for periodic travel (10-20% per year).
What You Will Do
Improve and implement way of working and tools to support customer collaboration and tenders around sustainability topics. This includes e.g., managing tools for product carbon footprint and other product sustainability information to meet customer needs.
Coordinate and coach a network of regional sustainability ambassadors in the Professional Hygiene sales & marketing organization.
Support with expert advisory in sustainability dialogue with strategic customers.
Provide input on content for sustainability communication and events targeted to customers.
Collect input of regional & local sustainability requirements and needs from regional sustainability ambassadors, to support prioritization of activities.
Lead sustainability training and competence development for regional sustainability ambassadors.
Who You Are
To be successful in the role you are an excellent communicator with the capability to convey knowledge and information to your colleagues and drive business results within your area. You are costumer driven and thrive in an international setting with stakeholders at different levels within the organization. Since you will work self-efficient and independent in the role, we believe you are self-motivated with a strong internal drive.
University Degree or equivalent.
At least 5 years of working experience in a sustainability role, ideally from a product perspective and/or from consultancy.
Experience in sustainability communication, product sustainability assessments and corporate reporting, e.g., Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Greenhouse gas protocol, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in working with Science Based Targets and sustainable sourcing is consider a plus.
Experience working in a matrix organization is an advantage.
