Job summary

Our service requires 1 NMC registered nurse to join our School Nursing Team for the South Buckinghamshire Area.

The post is ideal for nurses who want to develop new skills in working in the community with children from 5-19 years old in home and school environments.

Through using the Healthy Children Programme, successful applicants will be able to be part of our passionate, dynamic and evolving team working linking with other teams across the county.

This position involves undertaking child and family interventions, specifically with children and young people from 5-19 years, within both school and home environments.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will benefit from a robust competency process, supervision and extensive training. All of which could support the progression onto the SCPHN (Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - School Nurse) programme at Bucks New University.

All new staff will be provided with agile working technology. Over the past few months, we have successfully implemented virtual ways of working to support teams, children and schools, but with strong face to face support from an experienced skill mix team.

This position is based in the South of the county with your main base being at Amersham Hospital however you may be required to travel across sites as part of your role.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Essential

PASS/Mentorship in clinical Practice/ENB998 certificate NMC Registered Nurse: Adult, Child, Learning Disability or Mental Health

EXPERIENCE

Essential

Experience of working with children, young people and families Can demonstrate working to scope of professional practice and use of evidence-based practice Knowledge of "Health visiting and school nursing service delivery model" and current issues which can impact on professional practice Ability to carry out complex clinical assessments Experience of Safeguarding Children and Child Protection Policies and Procedures Can demonstrate use of audit techniques Experience of mentoring preregistration students
