What you will do

To be lead the technical and product management function for the WPS United Kingdom business unit. To provide highly accurate advice on solutions from WPS’s portfolio and with technology partners to WPS employee and customers. The role will work in close co-ordination with Technology Development functions in WPS Group level and liaison with third party integrators. Key responsibilities and activities are as follows:

Being the technical lead and go-to support person in the UK for WPS products, providing support to WPS employee and customers pre and post-sale. Acting as systems architecture lead for customers and provide input to the sales and project teams to verify solution design. To be technical account manager for key customer sites building and maintaining close relationship with customer key contacts. Representing the company at customer meetings on technical issues including upgrade planning and any other technical customer challenges. Providing customer training Keeping the team informed on technology advancement, new product availability and planned developments. Hosting knowledge sharing workshops with management, engineers and sales people. Liaising with WPS Group, partners and suppliers to co-ordinate integrations with WPS UK solutions. Providing hands-on technical support and assistance to resolve customer / system issues and be prepared to work in all parts of the UK. Helping to develop the company’s transition from a hardware focused company to a Software as a Solution (SaaS) company. Leading on implementation and documenting product manuals. Assisting with the implementation of internal systems. Supporting the Service Desk in both trouble-shooting and providing a high level of technical support to management, which can sometimes be outside of normal hours. Representing the UK business unit’s interests and priorities at appropriate internal technical meetings.

What we are looking for

You will have demonstrable experience and expertise in a related field of technology together with experience of managing multiple, complex technical software products and experience of deploying IP networks. Working knowledge of Linux command prompts, knowledge of Rancher, Cockpit and Containerisation would be advantageous.

A high level of education / experience is required to enable understanding of customer needs and the provision of detailed, coherent responses and solutions.

Strong problem solving and analytical skills, the ability to work on your own initiative and to take a different approach is required to provide innovative solutions to the customer.

This role requires wide ranging contact with our Group HQ in the Netherlands and internal teams on a regular basis to communicate objectives/priorities, share information, accomplish your own work and maintain cooperation.

You will have the ability and flexibility to work to tighter than normal time constraints and take calls out of hours, from time to time, to meet customer delivery timescales and service level agreements. This might also include the ability to work at customer sites and stay away from home on occasion.
