Job summary
We are looking to appoint 3 Fixed term specialty doctors in acute medicine.
Trust will support individuals who wish to apply for a training post or alternatively pursue the CESR pathway. This would be agreed with the successful candidate prior to commencement of the post.
These new exiting posts will allow you to consolidate your experience in a supportive Acute Medicine environment; giving you wide ranging clinical exposure and training; you will also gain additional experience in a specialty (For Cardiology, Gastroenterology Diabetes, Intensive care etc., subject to approval and based on your learning requirements).
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will be working with other middle grade staff to provide first line of support for Specialty Trainees and Foundation Doctors and take the lead in the care of the seriously ill patients; see and treat all categories of patients in the department of Acute Medicine/General Internal Medicine.
Acute On call & 1 in 3 weekends

Education & Qualifications
Essential
oBasic medical qualification (ie MBBS or equivalent). oFull GMC registration with a license to practice
Desirable
oFurther Higher Degree MD or PhD Specialty Certificate in Acute Medicine or equivalent post-graduate qualification.
Experience / Knowledge

oExperience of General / Acute Medicine at ST3 or higher since registration. oCompetent to work as an independent clinical decision maker and without direct supervision. oThorough and detailed knowledge of current clinical and medical best practice.
