We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Physiotherapist to join our special care unit at HMP Stafford, a category C men's prison based in Staffordshire. The 8-bed specialist care unit supports both reablement and palliative care patients. Within this role will work closely with the multidisciplinary team, including deliver supervision to a Physiotherapist Assistant. As well as supporting patients within the unit you will also support with outreach , assessments and follow up plans for patients across the prisons across the West Midlands region this offers a diverse work load supporting patients with neurological, chronic and short term illness.
Hours
8am-4pm Monday to Friday We can offer some flexibility within these hoursSalary This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £45,173 per annum - depending on experience.
Mileage expenses for travel between sites is also coveredHow will we support you? Main duties of the job
As a Physiotherapist, your responsibilities will vary. You will
Provide outstanding evidence-based care, listening and acting on patient feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them. Work as an autonomous practitioner and ensure patients referred to the service are assessed, diagnosed and managed, and hold responsibility for your own caseload. Assess patients, with diverse or complex presentations including orthopaedic, respiratory, neurological and frailty related conditions and complications in their referring prison, and to include all aspects of rehabilitation. Qualifications required Registered Physiotherapist with current professional qualification (HCPC and MCSP) Evidence of relevant experience in neurological and general rehabilitation and proven post-registration experience of assessing and treating patients with a diverse range of need Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working and excellent clinical reasoning skills Secure environments are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work.
