What you’ll be doing

1. Participates in the implementation of risk management procedures, performing security assessments and providing security expertise and support for the implementation of priority security programmes.
2. Supports the delivery of security and tracking key projects of security.
3. Supports in the implementation of ways to improve working processes within the area of security operations.
4. Supports the delivery of security execution updates for managing executive and other key stakeholders' interfaces.
5. Supports the creation of meaningful metrics to track and trend the progress of essential security services.
6. Supports leasing with business leaders to proactively identify the security impact of implementations across the BT Group.
7. Supports internal and external communications, ensuring the cadence and content of communications is appropriate, to provide exposure of the security function.
8. Supports partnering with the BT Group corporate security to build complementary services that leverage the scale and capabilities while delivering a line-of-business function.

Skills Required for the Role

A genuine enthusiasm and drive to work within Cyber Security  Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively  Calm & Decisive under pressure: Able to maintain a calm and collected response when managing cyber security issues. Communication, Visual & Written skills: Very strong communication, visual & written skills, Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications Influencing skills: Ability to motivate others and have influence across the business, with the right sense of urgency, without having formal authority. Building External Relationships: partner relationships with other SOCs (peers, customers and vendors) and National Cyber Security Centre operations Fundamental understanding of security methodologies and processes, and/ or networking knowledge. Knowledge of current real world cyber-attacks, an understanding of the impact and how this could relate to BT Group. Understanding of Mitre ATT&CK Framework TTP’s Familiarisation with legal frameworks and relevant BT policies governing specialist cyber investigation techniques and evidential standards, understanding how to seek appropriate advice. Security Clearance: ability to obtain and maintain SC may be needed in the future.

Experience Required for the Role

Understanding of current Cyber Security threats to our industry & motivation to protect BT from malicious adversaries. Experience working within a team Experience working within a IT/Network/SOC environment (not essential)  Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework and its importance Building process documentation and suggesting improvements to current processes. Fundamental security knowledge or certifications (not limited to SSCP/ Security +) or previous professional experience/education in Cyber Security.
