Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). As part of the team you will take a leadership role in the delivery of high quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of children and young people, their families and carers. Working within a systemic and holistic framework you will undertake needs led, evidence based, highly skilled assessments and therapeutic interventions to children and young people, their families and carers, who present to the service. These assessments will also include young people needing support due to deliberate self-harm.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a registered nurse, qualified social worker, occupational therapist or equivalent ideally with a minimum of 12 months recent experience within a CAMHS setting or experience in working within Mental Health. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivating, have the ability to case manage and will display excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to establish good working relationships essential to the success of the service.

The CAMHS services within LCFT are undergoing a transformation programme to implement the THRIVE model as a response to the Five Year Forward View. To meet this forward thinking view we are specifically looking for practitioners with a modern mind-set and an enthusiasm for the new model.

To help with the costs incurred by moving home to begin the next chapter of your career at LSCFT, we offer a generous Relocation Package of up to £8000 for successful applicants to this role who currently live further than 30 miles away from their new base of work (subject to t&c's).

About us

The £7k Welcome Bonus package applies to this role. The bonus is only available for people who are not currently employed (or who have not been employed in the last 12 months) by any NHS provider trust in the Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System in a like-for-like role; a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse at another Trust in the LSC ICS would not be eligible for the bonus if moving to a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse role at LSCFT. Bank only workers for Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust are eligible for the scheme if they have not held a substantive role in Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System in the last 12 months (subject to all other terms and conditions being met). These incentives are subject to recovery clauses within the first 6 months of employment. This bonus is applicable from 1st July 2024 - 30th September £7k Welcome Bonus package is designed to attract and retain the very best staff in post. The amount a new starter would receive is shown in the Welcome Bonus Payment Schedule below:
