Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a permanent assistant manager for the Patient Booking Centre here at Glan Clwyd Hospital

The successful candidate will have experience in managing staff, recruitment processes, training and leadership. Experience and understanding of booking processes and scheduled care will be an advantage. The successful candidate will have experience in using the clinical systems and have excellent reporting skills that they can present to the Directorate Access meetings.

The post holder will provide effective leadership of the central booking team to deliver a highly efficient support service to the Health Board. They will work in collaborative manner with clinicians, managers and colleagues providing an effective and efficient administrative support function.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

Educated to degree level or equivalent level of work experience and knowledge GSCE English & Maths NVQ L4 or diploma level or equivalent in administrative related area Evidence of continual professional development

Desirable

ECDL or equivalent

EXPERIENCE

Essential

Experience of assisting with the management of a service/managing staff Waiting list experience or equivalent experience Experience of using spreadsheets / databases Experience and understanding of current priorities for the health board

Desirable

Experience of working with Healthcare Information systems & Extensive experience of WPAS

SKILLS

Essential

Understanding of statistics Able to present data and information clearly and accurately Excellent communication skills Keyboard skills Ability to work to deadlines Organisational, time management for self and others, and delegation Leadership/coaching skills Strong commitment to making performance improvements Change management skills and ability to implement and assist with leading change Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills Ability to use own initiative
