What does a Project Manager do?

The Project Manager role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating investment projects aimed at improving key areas of the business such as Safety, Quality, Productivity, Maintenance, and Cost. The role requires the individual to proactively support team members in enhancing their KPIs and targets while managing stakeholder expectations. Strong prioritization skills are essential to ensure site needs are met efficiently, either through internal resources or external contractors, with a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget.

As a change agent, the Project Manager must foster a positive approach to driving the business towards becoming a world-class organization. The role demands a consistent demonstration of Sealed Air’s four fundamental values, ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction through clear communication and collaboration with other departments. The successful candidate will be instrumental in promoting continuous improvement across the site.

Why we need you?
  • Prioritization and Stakeholder Collaboration: You will work closely with stakeholders to gather, prioritize, and manage projects, ensuring that safety, quality, productivity, and cost considerations are always at the forefront.

  • Project Oversight and Problem Solving: You will lead regular project reviews, delegate tasks as needed, and escalate any unresolved issues to management, ensuring smooth progress and timely resolutions.

  • Innovation and Engineering Support: You will create systems for team members to formally request engineering support, promoting innovation and problem-solving across the site.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: You will generate and manage PARs (project justifications) while complying with the system requirements, ensuring that every project is backed by sound analysis.

  • Collaboration with Maintenance and Planning: You will identify opportunities to improve machine reliability and reduce downtime, working with the Maintenance and Planning teams to prevent project-related disruptions to customers.

  • Training and Knowledge Transfer: You will ensure that relevant project information is passed to team members and that they receive the necessary training for successful project implementation.

  • Contractor and Safety Management: You will manage contractors onsite, ensuring they are fully inducted and comply with Sealed Air’s safety and legal policies.

  • Process Improvement and Team Collaboration: You will continuously seek to improve project management processes to reduce lead times and costs, contributing to a positive, collaborative team environment.

Qualifications
  • Strong Engineering Background: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) is required, with experience in project management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Project Management Experience: Proven track record of managing small, medium, and large-scale projects from inception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.

  • Stakeholder Management Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders, prioritizing projects based on business needs, safety, quality, and cost considerations.

  • Experience with Maintenance and Reliability Improvements: Familiarity with working alongside maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and increase operational efficiency.

  • Process Improvement Mindset: Demonstrated experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives, reducing lead times, and enhancing project outcomes through innovative solutions.
