We have an opportunity to recruit a Band 5 OT to join our passionate and supportive Team within Adults of Working Age Mental Health Directorate. Our service provision covers Acute and Rehab in-patient wards as well as Community Recovery Team and your work will predominantly involve the inpatient wards. The opportunities to work within different settings will broaden your experience and add to you professional work satisfaction as we strive towards an effective continuity of care between the relevant services.
You will be working as part of the Multidisciplinary Team with other Allied Health Professionals, Nursing and Medical colleagues. This role enables development of holistic occupational therapy skills. Whether you are newly qualified, about to graduate, returning to practice or looking for a change this could be the role for you.
We can offer regular supervision, preceptorship, exciting training opportunities and links to the wider therapy team in AWP.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of the job involve effective delivery of Occupational Therapy process of assessment, intervention and evaluation with reference to the relevant guidelines and legislations and with application to up to date and evidence based practice. The Model of Human Occupation Model is predominantly used in our service provision and you will be supported by the senior OTs to support your use and further development of your professional skills. You will be expected to be a reflective practitioner, committed to lifelong learning.
You will delegate and supervise junior OT staff members.
You will support the service with the prioritisation, planning, development and delivery of a high quality occupational therapy service in accordance to local OT Mission Statement goals.

Job responsibilities
You will work as an autonomous professional managing own case load.
You will provide standardised and non-standardised specialist assessments.
You will develop, facilitate and monitor individual as well as group intervention programme.
You will work as a key member of the multidisciplinary team attending ward rounds, Care Programme Approach meetings, discharge meetings and providing timely feedback.
