Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant to join our team at Elysium Healthcare. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with our Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist to support individuals with complex needs in their rehabilitation journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals in developing functional skills through various activities, including self-care, meal preparation, and community trips.
- Contribute to the assessment, monitoring, and evaluation of structured sessions to measure progression and effectiveness.
- Work under the guidance of the Physiotherapist to run simple exercise classes and enable service users to complete their personal exercise programmes.
- Participate in sessions with the physiotherapist to facilitate physical rehabilitation, including standing, gait/mobility, and balance.
Requirements
- GCSE/O-level (A-C) Mathematics, English, and a Science subject or equivalent NVQ2.
- 1 year of experience working in a rehabilitation facility or similar environment as an assistant.
- Experience as an occupational therapy assistant, physiotherapy assistant, or other therapy assistant working under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist.
- Good command of the English language, good verbal and written skills.
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Fitness to handle the physical requirements of the job, including pushing people in wheelchairs, assisting someone to stand, moving equipment, and helping with personal care.
