About the Role
Elysium Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the rehabilitation and care of our service users.
Key Responsibilities
- Under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist, you will facilitate functional skill-building activities in self-care, meal preparation, shopping, community trips, and other practical skills in one-to-one and group sessions.
- You will contribute to the assessment, monitoring, and evaluation of structured sessions to measure progression and effectiveness.
- Under the guidance of the Physiotherapist, you will run simple exercise classes and enable service users to complete their personal exercise programmes.
- You will participate in sessions with the physiotherapist to facilitate physical rehabilitation of standing, gait/mobility, and balance.
Requirements
- GCSE/O-level (A-C) Mathematics, English, and a Science subject or equivalent NVQ2
- 1 year of experience working in a rehabilitation facility or similar environment as an assistant
- Experience as an occupational therapy assistant, physiotherapy assistant, or other therapy assistant working under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist
- Good command of the English language, good verbal and written skills
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
- You will need to be fit and able to handle the physical requirements of the job, such as pushing people in wheelchairs, assisting someone to stand, moving equipment, and helping with personal care
