Agilent is creating the next generation of security and detection products to ensure high performing products are provided to our end customers. The security and detection business creates solutions that are used in non-laboratory environments such as airports, border protection, fire service, police & military environments... As a part of this effort, we are seeking a talented Application Scientist / Engineer to help guide this new vision into reality. This role would join a rapidly advancing team and would be pivotal in continuing to drive innovation for the security and detection spectroscopy products. You will work with a team of hardware and software engineers to help bring research to reality.

In this role, you would be responsible for researching and delivering new sensor technologies to our products. This requires understanding of electronics and sensors and how to use them to create products that can be used in the field for chemical detection. The ideal candidate would be technically strong, proactive, have good communication skills and be a great teammate.

As an Application Scientist / Engineer you will:

Work on a new major application development project in the field of detection and security requiring coordination with other functions. Lead the application work of new sensor modalities within this project to research and deliver cutting edge detection capability. Solve a broad range of problems of varying scope and complexity - including data collection trials, applications development and fast prototyping.

Qualifications

Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Science, mechanical or electrical engineering Experience in designing and performing scientific experiments. Experience with sensors and electronics. must be able to obtain and hold security clearance  Experience in the Security and Detection Industry is desirable
