A high-achieving primary school in Salisbury, rated GOOD by Ofsted, is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Classroom Teacher to join their permanent staff list from September 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and committed educator to make a significant impact on the lives of students with special educational needs and disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, tailored education to students with SEND.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Collaborate with support staff, parents, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support for students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the school’s continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience teaching students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • A strong understanding of SEND legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to create and maintain a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Commitment to professional growth and school improvement.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

Desirable:

  • Additional qualifications in special educational needs.
  • Experience with specific interventions and strategies for SEND.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a primary school setting.
