Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated KS1 Teacher to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a SEN Education Specialist, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lesson Planning and Delivery: Plan and deliver differentiated lessons and learning activities tailored to meet the individual needs of students with SEND, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), sensory processing difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
- Classroom Environment: Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued, respected, and empowered to participate actively in their learning and development.
- Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Use a range of assessment tools and strategies to monitor students' progress, identify their strengths and areas for development, and inform the planning of personalized interventions and support plans.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with colleagues, parents, carers, and external professionals to share information, set targets, and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions in supporting students' academic, social, and emotional progress.
- Role Modeling and Advocacy: Act as a positive role model and advocate for inclusive practice, equality, and diversity within the school community, promoting a culture of respect, understanding, and acceptance of individual differences.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience: Extensive experience working as an SEN Teacher in a special school or a mainstream school with a focus on supporting students with SEND.
- Knowledge and Skills: Sound knowledge and understanding of a range of SEN conditions, educational needs, and evidence-based interventions, as well as relevant legislation and guidance.
- Personal Qualities: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, families, and external professionals.
- Passion for SEN Education: A genuine passion for SEN education, inclusive practice, and empowering children and young people with SEND to achieve their full potential and lead fulfilling lives.
