We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Intervention Teacher to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of children who require additional support to thrive in their learning.
Role Overview:
As an Intervention Teacher, you will work with small groups or individual students who need targeted support in areas such as literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development. You will plan and deliver tailored intervention programs, working closely with class teachers and SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) to track progress and ensure the best outcomes for our pupils.
This role is perfect for an experienced teacher who is passionate about supporting children’s learning, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students to overcome barriers to success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver targeted intervention sessions in literacy, numeracy, and other areas as needed.
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing regular updates to class teachers and parents.
- Work closely with teachers to identify children who would benefit from additional support.
- Tailor learning strategies to meet the specific needs of individual students or small groups.
- Use a range of teaching resources and strategies to engage children in meaningful learning experiences.
- Develop strong relationships with children, building their confidence and motivation to succeed.
- Collaborate with the SENCO and other support staff to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Maintain accurate records of interventions, tracking progress and making recommendations for further support.
- Support the whole-school ethos by promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working as a teacher in a primary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and primary education.
- Experience in planning and delivering effective intervention strategies.
- Ability to work with small groups of children with varying abilities and needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to track and report on pupil progress.
