Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join our team, starting in October 2024. This role offers both full-time and part-time options, allowing for flexibility. As an English Teacher in this SEN school, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and accessible English lessons to students with Autism and SEMH, helping them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons tailored to the needs of students with Autism and SEMH.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and development.
- Assess, record, and report on the progress and attainment of students, ensuring individual education plans (IEPs) are met.
- Collaborate with the wider school team, including SEN specialists, teaching assistants, and parents, to support student progress.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students and manage classroom behavior effectively.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching English, preferably within an SEN or alternative provision setting.
- A strong understanding of Autism and SEMH and how these impact learning and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
- A commitment to inclusive education and a passion for working with students with special educational needs.
