Our CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service) West Sussex Duty and Liaison Team is developing our Urgent Health Care service and as a result an exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 3 full-time support worker to join our team.
As a Support Worker in our team, your role will be variable and exciting, sometimes challenging and there is a need for flexibility but it is always very interesting and rewarding. You will need to be motivated, organised and have a strong commitment to providing high quality care to provide the best outcomes for young people.
As a full-time support worker, you will work shift patterns covering hours between - Monday to Friday and to weekends and public holidays.
To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to get fully vaccinated against COVID
Main duties of the job
As a support worker in the Duty and Liaison Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) you will support the qualified members of the team to deliver high quality care to children and young people experiencing a mental health crisis and their families/carers. You will provide this enhanced support in order to offer least restrictive options for young people, to enable them to remain living in their communities and avoid hospital admissions where possible.
You will work with the multi-disciplinary team to establish and deliver recovery focused interventions and care for young people. You will also be supporting young people who are waiting for interventions from tier 3 CAMHS.
You will put service users' needs at the heart of the job, keeping people safe, contributes to effective interventions, and responds compassionately to distress.
We are very keen to promote CPD (continuous personal development) and as such you will receive a full training programme, relevant to your post.
