About the Role

The post holder will take the lead role in developing the university’s Responsible Research and Innovation Framework. Along with overseeing the QM Research Integrity (RI) and Ethics functions, Acting as a liaison between the JRMO, Research Integrity Committee and Queen Mary Ethics of Research Committee

The role holder will be tasked with ensuring researchers are fully aware of and meet the highest standards of integrity and good practice, including governance of data, compliance with funder requirements, research misconduct procedures and responsibility for making returns to funders and regulatory bodies where required. Taking a lead role in: Compliance with the Concordat to Support Research Integrity, the University’s research integrity infrastructure, and reviewing and reporting on the RI portfolio for the university.

The role will Provide leadership and line management to the QM Research Integrity and Ethics team consisting of 4 staff members.

The person in this role will leverage their professional expertise to cultivate and integrate a vibrant Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) culture throughout the University. In addition to overseeing other facets of RRI, your responsibilities will include consolidating the overarching RRI framework. You will collaborate with colleagues to comprehensively outline the various activities conducted by different teams across the university, identifying any gaps and crafting a unified narrative. Furthermore, you will lead directly for Research Integrity and Ethics.

About you

The role will provide assurance to the University that all reasonable measures have been taken to ensure compliance with internal and external policies and regulations and the highest standards of governance are achieved in all areas of research. The post holder should be a strategic thinker, able to track national policy developments and draw insights into QM and Barts practice.
