About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Programme Director to lead the NIHR Policy Research Programme, driving the translation of research into policy and practice in the health and care sectors.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record in evidence-informed policy making, ideally through commissioning and translating evidence into government policy.

Key responsibilities will include overseeing the NIHR policy research portfolio, including Policy Research Units, the Call-off Analytical Facility, and Evidence Review Facilities.

The Programme Director will work closely with the NIHR's Science, Research, and Evidence Directorate to maximise the impact of commissioned research on national policy.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience in evidence-informed policy making
  • Strong track record in commissioning and translating evidence into government policy
  • Experience of leading policy research programmes
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
