What is the Role
  • This role will lead the asset and investment management function for existing networks in your region and their ongoing strategic development plans, as well as technical input and advice for new networks and assets as required.
  • Deliver a cost-effective O&M asset strategy; maximising asset performance and availability, whilst reducing overall lifecycle costs to the business
  • Control the profit & loss account for electrical network assets in your region, demonstrating full ownership of day to day transactions, upcoming maintenance and repair costs and future replacement or demolition requirements
  • Develop relationships with key asset, technology and professional service suppliers to deliver on the future evolution and profitability of the sites in your portfolio.
  • Develop relationships with customers and site tenants, with proactive and positive communication that delivers on customer requirements, ensuring that SSE remains as the trusted energy partner for all networks in your region

For this role, we’d love you to have:

  • Demonstrable expert knowledge of asset management principles and methods; asset health index and condition assessment, risk evaluation and management and maintenance planning; knowledge and understanding of remote monitoring and control, and safety switching practices
  • Knowledge of all aspects of regulated and private network strategic business ambitions, and ability to flex the asset management offering to suit customer requirements; commercial understanding and P&L management of asset portfolio
  • Ability to develop and communicate a compelling vision for the future of electrical networks under management; Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others, internally and externally
  • Degree educated electrical engineer (or equivalent), with solid experience in electrical systems and asset management. You will be computer literate with prior use of Asset management systems and databases and excellent use of spreadsheets
  • Due to the nature of this role, it’s essential you hold a full driving license.
