Data Analyst (Clients & Markets) - Fixed term 12 months

Are you an experience Data Analyst with the ability to critically examine data and extract meaningful insights? Then a role in Laing O'Rourke's Data team is for you. The role will see you supporting data requirements for our Clients & Markets team. You will take ownership of business opportunity data from our construction and business activities across our full range of data capture methods.

As a key member of the data team you will help the C&M function understand the drivers behind finance and work winning opportunities. You will have the ability to communicate findings to non technical colleagues.

What do you need to succeed?

If you are experienced in analysing raw data sets in SQL and be able to present data in PowerBI.

Duties include:

  • Understand and document work winning systems, processes and data
  • Manipulate data from internal and external sources and develop use cases to meet business objectives
  • Work with our implementation teams to ensure we are tracking necessary data internally
  • Analyse these datasets using a combination of tools including SQL, PowerBI and PowerApps
  • Produce and communicate insight relating to sustainability performance
  • Agree KPIs for measuring performance and establish appropriate reporting at a corporate and project level
  • Participate in strategic discussions and make recommendations based on insights you uncover
  • Work closely with C&M stakeholders to analyse and present data that drives business decisions
  • Adhere and contribute to standards and best practices with the central data & analytics team
  • Maintenance and development of Power BI dashboards measuring Sustainability KPIs

Essential technical skills and experience:

  • Strong data visualisation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate to advanced SQL skills
  • Engineering / Computer Science / Statistics Degree with Masters Preferred or equivalent experience / Finance or Accounting
