Working under theguidanceof the Instructional Design and Content Development Managerthe Junior Instructional Design and Content Developer will play akey role in developing blended learning resources. Responsibilitiesinclude actively participating in the incorporation of progressivepedagogical approaches overseeing trial phases and refining WSETscourses. Additionally the Junior Developer will contribute to thecontinuous enhancement of WSET courses by applying the ADDIEmethodology and embracing inclusive design principles.Here are somedetails of therole:

Analysis:

Assistin identifying learner requirements and objectives through needsanalysis techniques.

Collaborate with variousteams to gather requirements for learning design ensuringconsideration of diverse learner needs.

Work withProduct Planning and Content Operations team to identify deadlinesfor delivery of instructional content.

Uselearner personas considering a range of abilities and preferencesto tailor personalised course content anddelivery.

Stay informed about emerging trends inblended learning and best practices.

Collaboratewith industry peers and participate in professional learningcommunities that prioritise inclusive learning experiences. Whenappropriate attend live or virtual events to stay appraised andreport findings back to relevantstakeholders.

Design:

Applyinclusive design principles to Instructional Design when creatingblended learning course components that accommodate variouslearning requirements.

Support the InstructionalDesign and Content Development team by working acrossqualifications and projects to ensure the delivery of learningmaterials.

Assist in developing content forfacetoface online and virtual delivery that reflects the curriculumand examination content.

Contribute to the designof flexible content allowing for multiple means of representationandengagement.

Development:

Assistin the design scope and development of all learning materials forall WSET subject streams; this includes but is not limited toclassroom virtual and online learningresources.

Utilise authoring tools likeArticulate 360 to create interactive and accessible learningmaterials.

Collaborate with the MultimediaDesigner to produce multimodal content aligned with WSET brandguidelines.

Ensure all developed materials adhereto internal style guidelines. Manage and update these style guideswhere required.

Ensure all stakeholders areaccurately scoped on project and buildtimelines.

Implementation:

Whenrequired train internal teams on design processes andprinciples.

Manage the Learning Design teamsproduct update cycle each academic year as well as any urgentupdates that occur throughout the year. Gather all required updatesand addenda to ensure they are accurately reflected in coursecontent.

Assess and assimilate course feedbackinto live content where required.

Support in theprocess of localising learning content whenappropriate.

Evaluation:

Assistin assessing the efficacy of course content by interpreting data onlearner usage.

Contribute to continuousimprovement of course materials and delivery methods based onevaluation findings.

Contribute to regular designthinking workshops to brainstorm creative solutions to educationalchallenges.

Foster a culture of continuousimprovement by encouraging feedback and iterative coursedevelopment with a focus on inclusivepractices.

Contribute to the successful overalloperation of the Trust by undertaking such other tasks as may berequested.

EssentialCriteria:

Proficiency inInstructional Design and creation of learningcontent

Familiarity with at least one major LMS(preferably Canvas) and digital authoring tools (preferablyArticulate 360 suite)

Knowledge of editorialprocesses and principles for learning content.

Understanding of adult education and trainingprinciples.

Interest in investigating newlearning technologies and applying accessible course designprinciples.

Ability to adhere to company styleguidelines.

Collaborative worker with experienceof working crossdepartmentally and briefing otherteams.

Strong communication skills includingprofessional presentations and highquality writtenEnglish.

DesirableCriteria:

Certification inrelevant instructional design or eLearning developmentprograms.

Ability to interpret and implementtakings from learner engagement reports.

Knowledge of wine spirits beer and/or sakeproduction.

Experience working with content inlanguages other than English.

Ability to managecomplex projects and evaluate work from thirdpartyproviders.
