We are seeking a diligent Capacity & Availability Manager to join our Service Delivery team. This person will be responsible for ensuring that the cloud infrastructure we provision for our SaaS customers meets our capacity, performance, and availability goals.

Do you possess strong analytical skills, an enthusiasm for efficiency, and a keen interest in data? Do you have experience of cost management, optimisation, and capacity management in an Azure cloud business? Are you familiar with running disaster recovery drills, reporting on exceptions, and looking to improve processes you interact with? If so, you’re an ideal candidate for this role, and we’d love to hear from you.

This role has a varied and challenging remit, and as an early hire into a recently-formed team, you’ll play a significant role in shaping our processes towards best practices. At a time of significant expansion, this vacancy represents an excellent opportunity to join our organisation.
Key Responsibilities
  • You'll be confident navigating your way around both the Azure portal and an Excel pivot table or two (or many)
  • Working with our Cloud Operations and Platform Engineering teams to identify improvements to efficiency and resiliency in the platforms we run
  • Confidently execute on a backlog of tasks encompassing analysis, reporting, and developing robust processes for resiliency and capacity management
  • Resourcing our Service Delivery and Account Management teams with capacity information for customer presentations
The successful candidate must be able to travel regularly to either our Glasgow Office - G1 1RE, or our Edinburgh Office, EH12 5HD.
Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseEssential:
  • Azure
    • Cost Management
    • Azure Monitor 
    • A solid understanding of how virtual resources are billed
  • Skilled at working with data, producing reports, and presenting statistical information
  • Experience with disaster recovery drills (“DR testing”) 
Desirable:
  • Experience coordinating/reporting on penetration testing ("pentesting”)
  • Understanding of database technologies in a SaaS context
    •  Specifically, Microsoft SQL Server/Azure SQL
  • Exposure to security tooling (SIEM)
