Job summary
Thisis an exciting opportunity for a fully qualified CYP (Children and YoungPeople) MH Practitioner to work within a multi-disciplinary, earlyintervention Mental Health Support Team (MHST) to increase and improveemotional wellbeing for 525-year-olds, and mental health provision withineducation settings.

Main duties of the job
Youwill have an active caseload of children and adolescents with mild moderateemotional and mental health difficulties and will deliver evidence-based 1:1and group interventions, employing the principles underpinning the nationalCYP-IAPT programme (Children and Young Peoples Improving Access toPsychological Therapies).
Low intensityinterventions ( CBT guided self-help) will be delivered in a range ofeducation settings (primary, secondary, special, alternative provision andsixth form and further education colleges).
This will range from delivering evidence-based interventions for CYP andparents/carers in education settings, with mild moderate presentations, toproviding psychoeducation and training for a range of stakeholders, includingchildren and young people, parents/carers and education staff, promoting awhole school approach to mental health.
Youwill work with people from different cultural backgrounds, using interpreterswhen necessary, and should be committed to equal opportunities. You will also work closely with colleaguesand partners in the Local Authority, CAMHS, education settings whereinterventions are being delivered and other relevant mental healthproviders. This will build upon the ICBsand Minds whole school approach to mental health provision.

Delivering Interventions and Client Care
Assess anddevelop evidence-based intervention plans to meet the mild - moderate needs ofCYP with a range of mild moderate emotional and mental health difficulties,with the support of your supervisor Work inpartnership with children, young people, their families and educators in thedevelopment oftheir interventionplans, agreeing interventions andoutcomes Supportchildren and young people, their parents/carers, families and educators in theself-management of presenting difficulties Deliverevidence-based, low intensity 1:1 and group interventions for CYP aged 5-25with mild moderate emotional and mental health difficulties Ensure thatat all timesassessment and intervention are provided from an inclusivevalues base, which recognises and respects diversity Undertakeaccurate assessments of risk to self and others, with support from yoursupervisor Screen, triage and make decisions onsuitability of new referrals, adhering to the departments referral protocols,referring unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referralagent as necessary Maintaincomprehensive records of all training and intervention activity Complete allrequirements relating to data collection and report clinical outcomes andservice access data into the digital patient record system, CYP IAPTUS Adhere to theprotocols within the education settings to which the post-holder is attached Deliverpsychoeducation and training workshops and programmes to children, youngpeople, parents/carers and education staff Signpostreferrals for children and young people with more complex needs to relevantservices Engage inregular 1:1 line-managerial and clinical supervision Practice,evidence, reflect on and demonstrate an ability to manage ones own caseload inconjunction with the requirements of the team Attendmulti-disciplinary and multi-agency meetings relating to referrals and childrenand young people in treatment Show evidenceof working within a collaborative approach, involving a range of relevantothers when indicated. Specifically, work in collaboration with teachers andother education staff, parents, children, young people and the wider communityto enhance and broaden access to mental health services Contribute tothe development of individual or group intervention materials or trainingmaterials Monitor andtrack progress against access targets for your caseload and develop plans withyour supervisor to reach access targets Develop alocal knowledge of the locality and its services and facilities, particularlyin relation to mental health issuesProfessional

Direct experience delivering interventions for CYP aged 5-25 with mild moderate mental health difficulties Experience of routine outcome monitoring Experience of clinical risk assessment Understanding of child development and psychosocial influences Experience handling safeguarding concerns for CYP and adults Excellent communication skills

Experience using CYP IAPTUS patient record system Experience of working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions Experience working in a multi-disciplinary mental health team Experience working in education settings Experience engaging a range of stakeholders (young people, families, mental health providers, schools etc.)
