About Dan Y Coed
Located on the spectacular Swansea Bay coastline, Dan y Coed is a state-of-the-art specialist school and home for children with autism.
 
Position: Support Worker
As a Support Worker at Dan Y Coed, you will play a crucial role in the lives of our young people, supporting their daily activities, educational needs, and personal development. You will work closely with a magnificent team including teachers, therapists and other support workers to create a nurturing and inclusive environment. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide personalised care to each person in their daily activities, including personal care, learning and social interactions.  
  • Foster a safe and positive environment, ensuring the emotional and physical well-being of each person. 
  • Implement individualised care plans, under the guidance of an incredibly supportive senior team. 
  • Support our young people during recreational activities, outings and community integration. 
  • Collaborate with the wider team to maintain accurate records and documentation. 
  • Promote independence, self-esteem, and confidence in our young people, celebrating their achievements and milestones. 
Requirements:
  • A compassionate and caring nature, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships. 
  • Resilience and patience when faced with challenges, adapting to individual needs. 
  • A willingness to learn and follow guidance from the team. 
  • Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes. 
  • Flexibility to work on a shift basis, including weekends and occasional night shifts. 
Benefits: 
  • A rewarding hourly rate of pay of at least £11.60 per hour, with additional overtime possibilities if you'd like to earn more. 
  • Eligibility for a blue light card
  • Referral scheme - earn up to £1000 for every person you refer that then starts a job
