Job Title: Management Accountant
Accountable to: Financial Controller
Location: Scunthorpe
Hours: 08:30 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday, 08:30 – 16:30 Friday
Role
The role of Management Accountant is to provide effective support to the Financial Controller, be an integral part of the finance function, maintain financial policies and management information systems.
Mandatory Responsibilities
Adherence to all organisational policies, management systems and standard operational procedures, including legal responsibilities in relation to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality.Work positively to develop and foster good working relationships with colleagues and contracted personnel in order to maintain a culture of mutual respect and dignity.Represent the organisation in a positive way as to avoid the damage of corporate image or bringing the company into disrepute.Responsible citizen – responsible for own behavior, acting in a manner that avoids, discourages any form of discrimination or harassment.Take responsibility for own health, safety and welfare ensuring compliance with organisation’s policies and procedures.Detailed job description
Produce monthly Profit and Loss statement for the production facility and associated businessesAnalyse production and P&L variances to standard - Budget and ForecastProduce analysis of scrap, material, labour, and production overhead costAnalyse Gross profit Analysis of production and trading results Monthly WIP analysisAssist in month end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary Inventory analysis of materials and finished goodsManufacturing output monthly review Monthly review of in-transit ordersAnalyse cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventoriesProvide input for standard cost update including material prices, overhead absorption ratesOverhead absorption rates review Liaise with other finance departments as necessary both inter division and groupCheck that accruals for production overhead cost have been posted and variances explainedCheck that GRNI has been fully reviewed and additional GRNI accruals have been postedCheck with finance team that all stock and material entries have been processedActively pursue resolution of any system issues Provide necessary production input for Budgets and Forecasts Provide budgetary input for capital expenditureYear End tasks - Liaison with auditors – processing schedules and analysis as requiredAssist with preparation of the year end accounts pack Any other ad hoc tasks as and when required.Performance Measures
Adherence to daily/weekly/monthly deadlines as appropriate.Active contribution to systems and process improvementsUndertake reasonable training, development activity designed to support the business in his/her rolePersonal Attributes
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, analytical and numerical abilitiesAbility to reconcile complex accounts, ability to research, compile, analyse and interpret dataAbility to work on own initiative or as part of a team.Effective time management and organisational skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervisionGood written, verbal communication and collaborative skillsAble to adapt to new systems, and analyse themSkills/Abilities/Qualifications
QBE, Part Qualified ACCA, CIMA preferably with manufacturing experience High proficiency in ExcelNavision experience preferred but not essentialGood Microsoft office applications knowledgeGood knowledge of manufacturing applicationsPackage
