We have a new opportunity for an Assistant Land Manager to join our commercial land team in Wates Strategic Space.

This role will work alongside the Commercial Land Director and Commercial Land Manager to  support in the implementation of the land acquisition  strategy across England.

This role will be successful through the establishment and efficient maintenance of a strong network of commercial land agent contacts within the logistics and retail warehousing sector, delivering a steady range of good land opportunities for investigation with a view to securing on the best terms.

Reporting into the Commercial Land Director, some of the key accountabilities for the Assistant Commercial Land Manager will include:

  • Researching, Identifying, investigating, appraising and supporting on Wates Strategic Space opportunities to meet the business objectives in support of the acquisition of new commercial land contracts.
  • Establish a network of commercial land agents contacts, representing Wates in a professional capacity to a high standard at all times.
  • To support in providing handover of interests to the Wates Developments’ Projects team and act as a liaison on land matters/valuations in support of site and planning promotions as may arise and work with team members in creating a project strategy.
  • To support the Commercial Land Director in the disposal of consented land ensuring best value is obtained. 

About you:

We are looking for an individual with knowledge of land sourcing, market understanding, land contracts, land law, negotiation, planning, technical solutions and valuation.

To be successful in the role you will have a good understanding of land assessment, valuation of commercial assets, and be a good networker and negotiator.
