The Rivers Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Project Officer to join our Water and Land Stewardship Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in leading and developing Nature-based Solutions (NbS) project opportunities to improve rivers and catchments across the South East.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the identification and delivery of NbS projects to scale up their impact and collaboration across the SERT area.
- Develop and implement projects on the ground, including natural flood management, riparian corridor enhancement, and land management to increase catchment resilience.
- Work closely with land managers to co-design feasible NbS options delivering multiple benefits.
- Contribute to the effective collation of data and evidence across the Trust and the region, identifying and reviewing nature market opportunities.
- Develop blended funding approaches by capitalizing on opportunities and combining them with public funding.
- Build close relationships with regional water companies, farmer clusters, and other NGOs to drive improvement of our rivers and catchments.
- Personable and inquisitive individual with a passion for rivers and the environment.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms and engage positively with partners.
- Strong project management skills and experience in leading and developing projects.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
