We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Director of Sales to lead our sales team and drive revenue growth. As Assistant Director of Sales you will support the DOS in leading all proactive sales activity for the property, creating and implementing a cohesive and proactive Sales & Marketing plan.

This is a proactive, hands-on Assistant Director of Sales position to drive corporate, group and MICE business into the hotel.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • To make a minimum of 8 appointments per week to include client visits, arrange and host FAM trips, client showrounds.
  • Telesales and email campaigns that will: Identify new business, maximising all sales lead opportunities to drive incremental and new revenue to the hotel focussing on MICE sales.
  • Work proactively to uncover new business opportunities within the UK focusing on the MICE sector.
  • Account manage and build and maintain effective working relationships with new business
  • Attend and represent the hotel at networking events.
  • Support the reactive team with show rounds and conversion of enquiries.
  • Attend trade shows and exhibitions to represent the hotel at industry related events
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of the competitive set.
  • Complete all activity set within the sales and marketing plan
  • Complete daily/weekly/monthly reporting required to highlight business performance
  • Nurture, develop and support the proactive sales managers and reactive sales teams
  • Work Closely with the marketing team with promotions and special offers
  • Attend and present figures at key business meetings

Requirements

Skills required for the ideal candidate

  • You have a proven track record of developing and winning new MICE business and significantly growing existing customers, and a strong understanding of the UK market, particularly the meeting and conferencing market
  • You have atleast 3 years sales experience within the hotel/hospitality sector
  • You are naturally confident, highly driven and have a focused and ambitious nature.
  • Positive proactive attitude and good communication skills.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills.
