Main duties of the job

We are looking for a part time MSK Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner to join our dedicated MSK team.

We are looking for someone who is able to demonstrate motivation, drive commitment and passion for promoting health, well-being and independence for MSK patients in the community. We are a values-based Trust and are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic clinicians who believe in the provision of patient-centred care. The post holder will carry a caseload and have expertise with the patient group in which they practice which is underpinned by competency assessment and learning programmes. The focus of the MSK team is to maximise and enable independence of the individual, and the role of the MSK Physiotherapy Assistant in Rehabilitation is fundamental in supporting patients to achieve this.

The post holder will be expected to work without direct supervision undertaking tasks delegated by the relevant professional, in order to support the patient and the team, the post holder will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills to maximise effective intervention to the patient.

Qualifications

Essential

NVQ 3 in Care Diagnostic and Therapeutic support or similar award or willingness to undertake training Qualification in exercise therapy Evidence of a good standard of intermediate level of advanced learning and knowledge within Exercise, Sport, Rehabilitation or Health Care Equivalent

Desirable

Coaching or instructor level teaching for classes/groups Escape pain instructor qualification

Experience

Essential

Experience of working in health/social care/NHS in clinical setting. Experience of working in a physiotherapy team/relevant experience within the NHS Experience of running an exercise group or similar group.

Knowledge
