We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Head of Safeguarding and Pastoral Support – initially based at our Wythenshawe Campus on a permanent, full time (35 hours per week) basis.
The purpose of the role is to provide effective management and leadership of statutory safeguarding (in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (2024) and the development, planning, delivery and monitoring of student support and experience.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Degree Level Qualification or relevant industrial experience or professional qualification. Recognised teaching qualification. Numeracy and literacy skills (to level 2 or equivalent). Must have experience of leading Safeguarding arrangements in an Education setting . as a Designated Professional with operational responsibility for safeguarding. Exceptional knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable students with unmet safeguarding or pastoral support needs. Must have credibility in assessing and advising safeguarding/pastoral matters and providing effective supervision for safeguarding and pastoral themes. Significant experience of managing safeguarding and pastoral risk factors and the provision of effective ‘Early Help’. Proven track record of management of a large and diverse team. Must have experience in quality assurance/control processes and procedure and in particular SAR processes and business planning. Experience of effective resource and performance management utilising computerised management information systems. Experience of staff training and appraisal. Demonstration of ability and vision in developing the curriculum. Interpersonal leadership skills.In return you will benefit from an excellent package including:
