Join Our Team as a Support Assistant in Stockton

Are you passionate about working with children and making a real difference in their lives? Teaching Personnel is partnering with a Secondary school in Stockton, and we’re looking for a dedicated individual to support students aged 11-16 with SEMH/SEN needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support under the supervision of teaching staff to help pupils access the curriculum and participate fully in school activities.
  • Assist in planning and evaluating learning activities, offering feedback to the teacher on pupil progress.
  • Support the teacher with behaviour management, keeping students on task and maintaining classroom discipline.
  • Provide tailored support for students with challenging behaviour, following individual support plans and risk assessments.

Requirements:

  • Enhanced child only DBS registered with the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Patient, reliable, and confident in supporting children and young people.
  • Experience working with SEN or disabilities is essential.
  • Previous experience as a Care/Support Worker is desirable.

This is a long-term role with an immediate start, offering competitive pay starting at £90 per day, with room for negotiation based on experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
