Position Summary:

Theposition of the Business Administrator / Project Manager isresponsible for managing and coordinating the completion of alllanguage projects.

Positionresponsibilities:

  • Manage the entirelifecycle of multiple localization projects in a fastpacedenvironment
  • Coordinate all the project phasesand efficiently predict the lifespan of all the stages of theproject
  • Liaise with sales staff to clarifyproject parameters
  • Negotiate deadlines andrates with vendors
  • Establish and maintainexcellent relationships with contract translators/trainer/teachersand proofreaders globally
  • Monitor and controlprojects status
  • Manage project financesincluding budgeting
  • Prepare and maintainproject documentation manually and on a business system software
  • Comply with relevant and applicable procedures
  • Perform quality checks at various stages ofprocess to ensure quality and accuracy (proofreading finaleye…)
  • Excellent written and verbalEnglish communication skills other languages would be an asset
  • Detail orientation with the ability tomultitask
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent problem solving and analyticalskills
  • Independence in carrying out assignedtasks
  • Ability to work under pressure in afastpaced environment
  • Highlydeveloped computerskills (MS Office Windows)

Essential skills andexperience required:

The role of a ProjectManager in a translation job is very important for many differentreasons. Their responsibilities in the translation process not onlyensure high quality translations but also outstanding service whichdelivers peace of mind for those not as experienced in dealing withsuch tasks. To help you better understand the crucial part aProject Manager plays in delivering a translation well be taking abrief look the responsibilities that are part of their rolebelow.

We will offer support for the rightcandidate to develop the skills to ultimately enable them to carryout the following responsibilities

1. QuotingThough in some agencies the sales team provides costs a ProjectManager is wellplaced for creating quotes. It isnt just a questionof providing some figures based on a rate card. A Project Managerwill screen the text for complexities gauge appropriate translatorsand analyse the text for things like duplicated copy to guaranteethe word count is accurate.

2. Linguisticunderstanding Understanding the text and what is required for atranslating it is very important so having expert linguisticexperience is vital. This knowledge is very important when it comesto accurately performing many aspects of their role. ProjectManagers are often the last native speaker who sees the text beforetranslation and often pick up on anomalies that the client may nothave noticed.

3. Select appropriatetranslators/trainers and teachers A Project Manager must understandwhat a translators strengths are and if they have the ability toproduce the desired style and standard in a translation.Appreciating a translators workload and knowing if they cancomplete the work on time is just as key.

4.Handle contractor queries Once a project has been put into progressthe translator may have queries from what is or isnt to betranslated to concerns about the terminology or content in general.They also even notice issues in the source text the client hasnt.Once received from the translator a good Project Manager willdistinguish between queries the client needs to answer and thosewhich can be dealt with internally saving the client time andhassle.

5. Manage project timelines Generally theturnaround time of a translation is nonnegotiable and safeguardingthis means managing many different aspects of the process. Thisincludes things like receiving the original text from the client ontime handling queries effectively and selecting translators who canachieve the goals set at the beginning of the project. They willalso know when time can be saved by taking advantage of differenttime zones or multiple translators without of course compromisingon quality.

6. Ensure quality A good translatorwill have appropriate experience and be qualified to a high level.Whilst experience shows that not every translation needsproofreading a good Project Manager will quality check theirtranslators work before returning it to the client. This coverselements like untranslated text formatting and layout and evenquestionnaire inserts scales and coding.

7.Satisfy the client On time delivery high quality translation withthe least hassle possible and all delivered with great service:this is what a Project Manager strives for and ultimately shoulddeliver.

  • Develop and optimise online marketing initiatives to drive customeracquisition;
  • Improving the usability designcontent and conversion of the company website
  • Create and optimize targeted and custom landing pages andmicrosites;
  • Implement analyse and optimizeorganic and paid search engine marketing activities;
  • Implement and execute email campaigns tonurture leads and customers;
  • Analyse andprovide weekly & monthly digital marketing metrics and leadstatus reports;
  • Develop and managecontentbased Social Networks and Blog Sites.
  • Review new technologies and keep the company at the forefront ofdevelopments in digital marketing.
