Job Description
Principal CAD Draughtsperson/Technician - Transmission and Distribution

Our client is seeking an experienced Draughtsperson with a proven track record in managing teams and delivering high-quality engineering drawings. The successful candidate will oversee a team comprising Senior and Junior Draughtspersons as well as Apprentices, ensuring the timely and accurate production of engineering drawings across various projects.

Ideally you will be educated to A level standard (or equivalent) and will have at least 5 GCSE’s (Grades A-C or equivalent) including English and Maths. You will have a HND/HNC (or equivalent in Engineering and also hold a UK Driving licence (or one acceptable to our insurers)

You will have a minimum 10 years relevant experience in an Engineering/Civils environment, a strong working knowledge of relevant software (including Autocad, Microstation Connect, SolidEdge and an up-to-date working knowledge of Industry specific standards and practices and applying relevant essential Health and Safety/CDM issues.

Can come from a Civil and/or Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical CAD background but must have Transmission and Distribution experience

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include:

• Managing the production of high quality engineering drawing across the team in accordance with company and industry specific standards.
  
• Responsibility for team deliverables to the Design Department
  
• Provide Engineering CAD expertise
  
• Manage workflow of the team to meet deadlines
  
• Produce and manage the team to produce a wide range of CAD drawings using different software
  
• Undertake QA/QC checks across a broad range of engineering CAD deliverables and can self-check own work prior to approval stage
  
• RC detailing
  
• Steel detailing
  
• Rebar Schedules

T&D. 33Kv and above. RC Detailing. Structural Steel Detailing, Electrical Principles.
